You can delete your ChildStep account and its data at any time. Two ways:
Option 1 — In the app (fastest)
- Open ChildStep and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Manage data → Delete account.
- Read what happens to each of your families, confirm it is you, and delete. If nobody else can manage a family after you go — an adult who was added but never signed in cannot — that family is permanently deleted with everything in it: children's profiles, goals, steps, schedule, comments and reactions. Where somebody else can, the family stays and only your account is removed from it. Before you confirm, the app shows you each of your families, what happens to it, and why.
Deleting only part of your data
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. In the app you can:
- Leave a family — Settings → Family → Leave this family. Your seat is vacated; the family and its content stay with the other adults, and you keep your account and your other families.
- Delete one family — Settings → Family → Delete this family, offered when you are the only adult who can manage it. That family and everything in it goes; your account stays.
- Remove a member — Settings → Family → tap the member → Remove member. Removing an adult is the organizer's call; a child's profile can be removed by any adult.
- Delete a goal or a step — from the goal or step itself.
To have part of your data removed by us instead, email the address below and say what you want deleted.
Option 2 — By email
Email support@childstep.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete your account and data. We will verify and delete it.
What gets deleted
Account and profile data, children's profiles, goals and steps, weekly schedule, comments and "cheers", parental-consent records, device push tokens, and photos. Your sign-in identifier is tombstoned so it can't be re-linked. Backups are purged within 30 days.
